Sofienberg Student House

Oslo Municipality will upgrade the public water and sewage pipes in Sverdrups gate.

The work will start in spring 2026 and is expected to be completed by autumn 2027.

There may be short periods of water outages during the works. These will normally last less than 6 hours and should be notified in advance.

The work will cause inconveniences such as reduced accessibility, construction traffic, noise, vibrations, dust, possible odours, and temporary brown water from the taps. Blasting work will be carried out in certain areas along the route.

SiO has kindergartens at UiO and OsloMet with services much more adapted to student life than what you’ll find in other kindergartens. Here you can read more about admission, prices, and our kindergartens.

It's APCOA PARKING that rents out parking in the parking garage to the student house. Read more about how to purchase a parking agreement here.

The storage rooms belonging to the single rooms in Skjelderups gate are located in the attic, and there is one common storage room in the corridor. The flats in Sverdrups gate all have their own attic storage room.

Both trams and buses go to and from the city centre only two blocks away from the student village.

The student village has bicycle parking in the bike shed in the backyard.

At Sofienberg, you throw your trash in the waste room in Skjelderups gate 17 or in the backyard for Sverdrups gate 20.

Remember to recycle all your trash!
