🧠Since the 1940s, researchers have explored psychedelics' potential to enhance autobiographical memory, with early work highlighting the therapeutic benefits of recalling life events. Today, however, research largely focuses on mystical or spiritual experiences, leaving questions about psychedelics' impact on memory—and their risk of inducing false memories—largely unexplored🔎 This talk revisits historical insights on LSD and memory, reviews recent findings, and presents current research aimed at understanding psychedelics’ effects on autobiographical recall and potential therapeutic applications🙌🏼 Dr. Samuli Kangaslampi is a licensed clinical psychologist, University Lecturer at Tampere University, and former Postdoctoral Researcher at Maastricht University. He is also a founding member of the Finnish Association for Psychedelic Research and chair of the Finnish Psychotrauma Society🧠
