Studenterhuset Schultz’ gate Student House is a distinctive house with a lot of history. Are you fond of interacting with people? Then this student house could be perfect for you. Schultz' gate Student House has a central location near Majorstuen and has double and single rooms with shared kitchens and bathrooms. Initially you will be accommodated in a double room that you share with another resident. The allocation of single rooms takes place according to seniority.

When you move into the house, it is tradition that you participate in a party committee the first two semesters. This student house is suitable for those who want to contribute to the community and want to participate in voluntary work and common meetings in the house. This is a living arrangement where you live close to the others in the house.

The house has rooms for 69 residents, in single or double rooms. The house has 4 kitchens and 8 bathrooms shared by all residents.

The common kitchens has white goods except for refrigerators that you need to get yourself and keep in your room. The different common rooms in the house have has a historic atmosphere and traditional design with large, good rooms, high ceilings and large windows that give a lot of light.

The student house has several common rooms that residents can use. There is living room, balcony, music room, fitness room and study room.

It only takes 7 minutes of walking distance to get to Bislett and 5 minutes to Bogstadveien where city trams have frequent departures. No matter where you might find yourself in Oslo, there is always a connection to Majorstuen station – which is located 10 minutes from the student house. From there you can get Metro, trams and bus lines to most nooks and crannies of the city.

Housing units

The student house is located at Fagerborg. Fagerborg is within walking distance of Blindern, Barrat Due, the Faculty of Theology, Police Academy and several other SiO campuses. The student house is located right in between Bislett, the vibrant Bogstadveien, Marienlyst and the pleasant Stensparken.

There is street parking outside of the student house. Municipal parking regulations apply. Bicycles are parked in the bike room located in the basement. Remember to mark your bike with a sticker available at the SiO Customer Service Centre.

The student house does not have private storage units, but common storage rooms in the attic that several residents share.

Please show consideration towards those who live around you when using the balconies. This means no barbequing, smoking, airing carpets or using it for storage.

The fire alarm systems in the student village are connected directly to the Agency of Fire and Rescue Services. If you cause a false alarm, you will be charged for the fire brigade’s emergency cost. Read more about fire safety here.

You are responsible for buying lightbulbs for your own room. Please inform the caretaker on the house if the lightbulbs in the common areas burn out so we can change them. If the fuses burn out, please contact the housing manager.
