Kringsjå Student Village is located 15 mins from Oslo city centre by public transport. With Sognsvann and Nordmarka as your closest neighbours, you’ll have fresh air and endless tracks for walking, swimming, running or skiing right outside your door. The Norwegian School of Sport Sciences is located close by the student village. In other words, living in Kringsjå Student Village provides the opportunities you need for an active lifestyle all year round.
In the years to come, SiO will build more student housing at Kringsjå. We will also develop the outside areas. The first new flats will be completed winter 2018.
The underground from Kringsjå station has a frequent timetable, and will take you to Oslo city centre in 15 mins. Kringsjå is also on the night bus line.
Kringsjå Student Village is our largest student village, including over 2900 housing units in all price ranges, suitable for singles, couples and families.
Kringsjå Student Village is located north of the city centre, with Sognsvann and Nordmarka as its closest neighbours. You will be surrounded by excellent hiking opportunities all year around. There is a supermarket located inside the student village. Kindergartens, elementary school and secondary school are also part of the Kringsjå Student Village area.
Our student laundries are located in Olav M. Troviks vei no 10, 20, 24, 36 and 62.More info on how to reserve time and pay for your laundry here.
The laundry in OMT 10 closes May 31st 2016. On June 2nd the laundry will reopen in a separate building in the square below OMT 2 and 4.
You can park your car several places within Kringsjå Student Village. The parking areas are supervised by Q-park. Read more about the parking arrangement here.
There are several bicycle racks in the student village. If you prefer to park your bike indoors, there are bicycle rooms at Olav M. Troviks vei 2-4 and 24. Bicycles and baby strollers must be marked with a sticker, which you can pick up at the SiO Customer Service Centre.
Your mailbox is located in the post room, next to the supermarket in the student village. The supermarket provides postal services, such as sending and receiving packages.
Most housing units have their own storage room, located in the basement. Remember to buy a padlock for the storage room. Some of the housing units have a joint storage room for the tenants. In that case, you will find the key in the common kitchen.
The fire alarm systems in the student village are connected directly to the Agency for Fire and Rescue Services. If you cause a false alarm, you will be charged for the fire brigade’s emergency cost. Read more about fire safety here.
You must buy and change your own light bulbs in your housing unit. If you share your kitchen or entrance with more than two people, SiO Housing is responsible for changing the light bulbs. Please notify us via My page about bulbs that need to be changed.
If your housing unit has a balcony, please respect your neighbours. This means no barbequing, smoking, storage or carpets being aired from the balcony.
Most housing units have a fixed, monthly price for power and energy. A few flats have their own power subscriptions.
