Carl Berner Student House was extended and given a facelift in 2013. This work included the opening of a roof terrace with a fantastic view. Here you will live right next to one of Oslo's most vibrant transport hubs, with a short way to 'everything'. Are you tempted by the buzzing nightlife of Grünerløkka, the thriving community of Torshov and Sagene or the spectacular view from Ola Narr? Carl Berner Student House has it all and within walking distance.

The tram, underground and buses all head to the main directions of Oslo from Carl Berner. You can reach central Oslo in less than 10 minutes. If you want to head outside of the busy city centre to nature you can easily reach both Østmarka and Nordmarka with the underground.

Carl Berner Student House was built in 2002. In 2013 several brand new floors were added to the building. The house has housing units for singles, couples and families. Behind the student house you will find a nice patio area and every common kitchen has got its own balcony. Many of the units have fantastic views over Oslo and some of the 2-bedroom flats even have their own balcony.

Housing units

Carl Berner is a central hub in Oslo with most things within reach. You will find shops, cafés, restaurants and green lungs right outside your door.

The student house's laundry is located in the basement of Hasleveien 11. You can reserve a time slot and pay in the laundry.

The bicycle racks are located right next to the main entrance and there are bicycle rooms in the basement next to the building's garage. Remember to mark your bike with a sticker, which you can pick up at the SiO Customer Service Centre. There is a garage connected to the student house, you may rent a parking space through Q-Park.

Mailboxes are located in the post room, which is found in the middle of the building with access from the entrance way. 

All housing units have their own storage room. The storage rooms are located on the ground floor or basement. Remember to buy a padlock for the storage room.

The fire alarm systems in the student village are connected directly to the Agency of Fire and Rescue Services. If you cause a false alarm, you will be charged for the fire brigade’s emergency cost. Read more about fire safety here.

The oldest housing units have fuse boxes in the corridors. In the case of a power shortaget, please contact us. The newer housing units have fuse boxes inside the housing unit. You must change your own light bulbs in your room, entrance, bathroom and toilet. If you share your kitchen or entrance with more than two people, SiO Housing is responsible for changing the light bulbs. Please notify us about lightbulbs that need changing in the common areas here.

If your housing unit has a balcony or roof terrace please be sure to respect your neighbours.
That means no barbequing, smoking, storage or carpets being aired from the balcony.

The rubbish room is located in the middle of the building facing Hasleveien, right by the post room.
