Åråsen Student House is located at Lillestrøm outside of Oslo. It is therefore best suited for students at OsloMet Kjeller. At Åråsen Student House there is a total of 203 housing units and two large roof terraces for the residents to enjoy. 

The bus stop is a 5 minutes walk from the student house. This is the main bus stop to and from Lillestrøm. The train from Lillestrøm station takes you to the centre of Oslo in 10 mins.

Åråsen Student House was built in 2002 and consists of 203 housing units. The student house offers single rooms where two people share a bathroom and kitchen, studio flats for singles and one bedroom flats for couples and families.

Housing units

The student house is located next to Åråsen Stadium at Kjeller. It takes about 20 mins to walk from the student house to the university. The student house is located 1.5 km away from the centre of Lillestrøm with cinema, shops and several cafés and restaurants.

Bike racks are located at the main entrance of the student house as well as in bike rooms in the basement.

There are parking spots that you can rent near by the student house. Read more about the parking arrangement here  Otherwise there are parking lots by Åråsen Stadium.

All single rooms and housing units come with their own storage room located in the basement. Remember to buy a padlock for the storage room.

The student house has two nice and spacious roof terraces. Please respect the other residents when using the roof terrace. That means no barbequing, smoking or airing carpets.

The fire alarm systems in the student village are connected directly to the Agency of Fire and Rescue Services of Østre Romerrike. If you cause a false alarm, you will be charged for the fire brigade’s emergency cost. Read more about fire safety here.

Fuse boxes are located in the corridors of each floor and have circuit breakers. You need to buy lightbulbs for your own housing unit, including the kitchen and the bathroom. Please report to us if the lightbulbs in the common areas burn out.
