Rishovd cabin has a beautiful location in Hol, Hallingdal. During summer you can swim in the clear mountain lakes close to the cabin, while ski trips to places like Hallingskarvet are within reach during winter. The cabin has an outdoor toilet that actually is the oldest building in all of the Hol area.

In Rishovd’s peaceful surroundings you will feel that you have escaped the hustle and bustle of the city. The cabin is located 1000 metres above sea level and is an excellent starting point for trips both on skis and on foot. If you like downhill skiing, Hallingskarvet Ski Resort is 2 km away.

Rishovd is the only student cabin located outside of the Oslo area. The area has beautiful hiking areas with mountain lakes and miles of prepared ski tracks. The cabin was originally an old smallholding, and has been owned by the student organisation Lukas since the 1960s.

Prices and rent

The cabin is available for rent for anybody. Members of the student organisation Lukas and students at schools associated with SiO have priority. Members NOK 80,- per person per night. Others NOK 100,- per person per night.
Minimum fee is NOK 400,- per night.


The cabin is located about 260 km from Oslo. Train from Oslo to Ål, and from here a bus to Myrland. The drive from Oslo is about a 4 hours. It is a 2 km walk from the parking lot to the cabin.
