Visit: Our office is in Idrettsbygningen (the sports center) at Blindern. Idrettsbygningen is part of the building that contains the main cafeteria (Frederikke) and our entrance is towards the Faculty of Humanities (Sophus Bugge’s house).
Financial support from KulturstyretStudent societies can apply financial support for their activities from Kulturstyret (the Board of Cultural Affairs). To receive financial support you need to fill in an application form and enclose some additional documents (a plan for your activities and so on). There are several application dates each semester.
If your student society needs funding and would like to apply for financial support, please contact us. The application form is only in Norwegian, but we will help you fill out the form, and explain what additional documents you will need to deliver. Our experience is that this is the best way to help a non-Norwegian speaking organisation to make sure all the requirements are met.
The Board of Cultural Affairs consists of ten students elected by the Welfare Council (Velferdstinget) and the money they grant to student societies comes from the student semester fee.
Registration of student societies at the University of Oslo (UiO)If you are a student society at UiO, you need to register your organisation. A full list of all the student societies at the UiO can be found at this web page: http://www.uio.no/english/student_life/societies/
When your register your student society it will be included in this list. Student Life will help you with the registration process. Please contact us.
