Student House Schultz’ gate is one of the oldest student houses in the country. There are 69 tenants living in the house, in both double and in single rooms. They share three kitchens and eight bathrooms and there are several common facilities.

Laundry room
The laundry room is in the cellar and the washing machine and dryer are free to use. You are no longer allowed to dry clothes in the attic.

Storage room
There is no private storage rooms on the house, only common storage rooms. These are located in the corridor. Note that you are personally responsible for obtaining a padlock.

Parking
Street parking is available outside the student house.  Community parking regulations apply here.

Bicycle parking
There is a bike stall in the cellar. Bicycles must be labeled with a sticker available at the SiO Centre.

Common rooms
There are several common facilities on the house; tv room, music room, a room for carpentry, one room for table tennis, a billiard room, a darkroom for developing photographs, an exercise room and a reading room. For NOK 90 a month you can have wireless internet access to your room. Contact the house inspector for reservation.

Fire safety

There is a sprinkler system in the house. Sprinklers should not be obstructed or used as a peg.

The fire alarm system is connected directly to the fire brigade in Oslo. If a tenant sets off a false alarm he or she will be invoiced the amount which the fire brigade charges for the emergency.

Fuse box and light bulbs

You are responsible for buying light bulbs to your room. For fuses contact your local Housing Manager.


Balcony

It is not allowed to shake and air carpets, to grill food or smoke at the balcony. Do not to use the balcony as storage.
