In case of evacuation of your building, it is important that you are familiar with the nearest escape route from your unit.
Free escape routes and emergency exits
The
fire brigade requires that escape routes without compromise should be
completely cleared and free. In case of evacuating this will ensure
rapid escape and the fire brigade will have quick access to the
building.
For
your own safety SiO Housing strictly enforce the requirements for
free escape routes. We have daily inspections in our buildings. Things,
such as sports gear, furniture, drying racks, etc that are placed in
escape routes will be removed and thrown in the garbage.
The emergency exit is locked
Doors
to most emergency exits automatically lock. If there should be a
situation where the fire alarm is triggered, the doors will open
automatically.
