Make sure you have a valid personal property insurance.

Be aware that SiO Housing does not cover insurance on your personal belongings. You need your own private personal property insurance to cover possible loss.

Check your parents insurance first
Start by checking your parents insurance. You may be covered already. Many insurance companies have limits on how long you can study or live away from home and still be included in your parent insurance.

Your private insurance
Living on a budget makes it quite an economic burden replacing broken or stolen properties. If your parents insurance doesen’t cover you, we strongly recommend you to acquire your own  personal property insurance. It will cost you between 800 and 1500 NOK per year, depending on the size of your residence.
