Which housing units you are eligible for depends on whether you are single, a couple or have children. Visit our
online housing catalogue and application form and choose the right profile to see your options. You will find information about our housing units and what is included in the rent. You may also find information about the Student Houses and Student Villages, and see where they are. Then you mark the units you want to apply for, and can fill in the application form.

Send your application early
Sometimes, when we have available units we may offer you a place to live on the same day as you apply. But usually we advise you to send your application as soon as you know that you need somewhere to stay. If you would like somewhere to stay from the beginning of the semester in August, we recommend that you apply before 15th of April. We might not have your favourite housing option available, so we advise you to choose several housing options and prioritize them.
Availability and internal transfer
Some of our housing units are more popular than others. The studio flats at Grünerløkka, all units at Pilestredet Park and Tullinløkka, the flats at Ullevål and Vestgrensa are of our most popular options. If we are unable to offer you the option you wish for, we advise you to accept what we do offer you. When you are a tenant with us, you may apply for internal transfer and internal applicants are prioritized over external applicants. So please choose several options when you apply. If you have a child you may want to apply for one of our one-bedroom flats in addition to our two- and three-bedroom flats; our larger flats are the most sought after.
Our online housing catalogue and application form tells you which housing units are available today. This may give you an idea of which housing units are more easily available. But please, do not be discouraged from applying, but remember to choose several options. Someone might move out before you are ready to move in, our tenants must terminate their contract two months before they move out.
In August there are usually nothing available. In June and July many of our tenants move out. If you set the date for moving in on the 1st or 16th in one of these months it is more likely that you get what you apply for. You may apply for the first and sixteenth of every month. But we do not recommend you to apply for the 16th of August, we rarely have anything available at that date.
Contract
You will not get a contract which extends further than to the 31st of December of the year you move in. If you are still eligible your contract may be extended. You are eligible for application if you are a student over the age of 18 and are affiliated with The Foundation for Student Life in Oslo (SiO). Some of our single rooms are available through the organisation OAS. You may read the Regulations of Allocations for more information.
